Intensive Russian Assaults Disrupt Electricity Across Ukraine's Capital

Energy infrastructure targeted in the region
The country's power facilities have faced increased strikes in recent weeks

Overnight, Moscow's aerial assaults have resulted in blackouts in multiple districts of the capital city, Kyiv.

Several individuals were wounded while residents in the city's east were plunged into darkness and dealt with interruptions to drinking water, as stated by local authorities.

Simultaneously, a minor was killed in a separate Russian drone strike in the Zaporizhzhia area in the southeastern part, according to regional authorities.

Moscow has increased strikes on electrical systems over recent weeks, while officials has requested "real steps" from international partners to exert influence on Russia.

"The necessity is not window dressing but decisive action - from the US, Europe and the major economies - in supplying defensive weapons and implementing sanctions," mentioned in a public message.

Officials stated that hundreds of unmanned aircraft and over thirty rockets attacked energy facilities, labeling such strikes as "premeditated" and against "everything that sustains normal life" as the weather cools.

The energy minister said Moscow was "inflicting a massive strike" and maintenance teams were striving to fix the damage.

A wave of strikes hit power facilities and civilian homes in Kyiv.

Multiple people injured in the strikes on the city have been transported for medical care, according to city authorities.

Regional authorities said the metropolitan region endured intense attacks overnight. A young boy died and several individuals were injured.

The attacks succeed nights of air raids in the area, sections of which remain under the control of Russian forces.

The whole nation is on alert for hypersonic Kinzhal missile strikes, which are tougher to identify.

Authorities told reporters that Moscow was purposely seeking to demolish the electrical infrastructure, with attacks already impacting energy systems.

Authorities confirmed energy workers and government agencies were bracing for more assaults.
