I will dominate 'serious fighter' Paul - Joshua
Anthony Joshua prepares to battle the American YouTuber in an eight-bout match which will be broadcast live on the streaming platform.
Briton Anthony Joshua stated he will "dominate completely" the American and "defeat" his opponent as the combatants came face-to-face to promote next month's heavyweight fight.
Former two-time world heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua faces YouTuber-turned-boxer Paul - in what is, by the numbers, a huge uneven pairing - at Miami's Kaseya Center on 19 December.
Fighter's Mindset
"I'm going to damage his features and hurt his body. I'm here to prove my superiority," Joshua, 35 years old, declared.
"I'll stamp all over him. That's a fighter's mentality.
"I'm going to genuinely try to cause him pain. That's my intention."
Civil Exchange
In spite of these statements, a calm Joshua and social media star Jake Paul - usually known for his showmanship - exchanged pleasantries and remained civil with each other.
Paul instead targeted ex Joshua rival Francis Ngannou and labeled him "a joke" after the Cameroonian declined a match opportunity.
Taking Aim at Tyson Fury
Joshua, at the same time, criticized UK opponent Fury - and declined a £1m bet 'Tyson Fury' says he will place on a Paul victory.
"Jake Paul is better than Fury - he's actually sitting here," Joshua said.
"I respect him for that."
Legitimate Fighter
In spite of stating he plans to damage his opponent, Anthony Joshua declined to talk badly about his rival's pugilistic talent.
"Jake Paul is a serious fighter," he remarked.
Paul's Background
Jake Paul - who first rose to fame on the television network - has mainly fought MMA fighters or past-their-prime fighters since turning professional.
He was defeated by Briton Fury in 2023.
Financial Success
Nevertheless, the inexperienced fighter continues to be one of the sport's greatest commercial attractions, consistently making huge earnings.
Forecast and Belief
The 28 year old predicted a knockout win in round four or five and claimed he would prevent the long-awaited Joshua–Fury fight, which is allegedly being planned for two years from now.
"The next fight will be myself against Tyson Fury in the coming year," Jake Paul declared.
Physical Difference
As Joshua and Paul met for the usual stare-down, with their height and weight contrast clearly visible, it drove home just how improbable this whole event is - and how astonishing it is that the match is really happening.
